When Sonny met Shafroz
That day changed everything
The day we met
It all started in 2012 when Sonny was visiting new friends in Calgary he had made during a French exchange program called “Explore”. Through these new friends he met Shafroz. They became friends on BBM and Instagram, and a year later when Sonny was planning a trip back to Calgary, he asked Shafroz to hang out which she immediately agreed to.
The ultimate first date
It was after Sonny’s second trip to Calgary that they talked everyday, well actually only texting, since Shafroz HATED phone calls 🤭. She eventually got over this fear, and they talked on the phone and planned a trip to Montreal together. This was the ultimate first date, where the two learned about each other and would describe it as “the most fun week” and “like two best friends hanging out”.
The beginning of their true love story
They started visiting each other every 3-4 months until Sonny finally convinced Shafroz to move to Winnipeg in 2020 in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic. This risky move paid off, as Shafroz started her extremely successful career as a nurse injector, and has lead us to this exciting adventure.
The proposal
On August 4th 2021, Sonny finally proposed to Shafroz where her panic response was “No! I mean, Yes!”
And now they are ready for the next chapter of their love story…
